The villa is located high on a hill overlooking the village of Villefranche Sur Mer and Jean Cap Ferrat which are otherwise known as among the very most exclusive “addresses” on the French Riviera. The villa has additionally been furnished with 18th century european antiques and art and has among the most privileged of views of the bay of Villefranche in the surrounding area. There is so much to be seen and experienced within a short drive of the villa from visits to the old towne of Villefranche Sur Mer, a 16th century sea port and fishing village just 3 minutes away by car, tours into the city of Nice and old towne of Nice 5 minutes away, tours onto Jean Cap Ferrat, the most exclusive living area on the Riviera (and possibly in Europe) just 3 minutes away, tours of the ancient village of Eze, a 13th century castle high in the hills above Monaco, tours into Monaco itself which are just 15 minutes away. The Italian border is but 25 minutes away, the city of Cannes is 30 minutes away, St. Tropez is 1:30 minutes away and the lavender fields of Aix-en-Provence and the southern wine country is 2 hours away. There are dozens of restaurants and bistros ranging from quaint local spots to high profile 5 star dining within 5 minutes drive of the villa and certainly in Monte Carlo. Nearby celebrity residents include Sir Elton John, Tina Turner, Bono, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Queen Elizabeth to name a few who have a summer homes in Villefranche and Jean Cap Ferrat. The area affords the visitor the ability to have as relaxed or as active a visit to the Riviera as you can choose with activities ranging from nature walks to golfing to yachting to weekend art shows. As the luxury cruise ships, sailboats and super yachts pull into the harbor below each morning, every day at Villa Athena like a very grand show, you will have an unforgettable view of the life only seen and experienced by very few.

The villa is located approximately 25 minutes away from the Nice International Airport on a well known thoroughfare known as the Moyenne Corniche (and otherwise known as Boulevard de la Corne d' Or). It is necessary to rent a car from one of the many rental car agencies at the airport during your stay (information to be provided on car rental options upon booking). The location serves as a very convenient base to tour from daily to all of the destinations you will want to see and experience in the immediate area and beyond with access to major auto routes (highways) within 5 minutes away. The villa lies approximately 100 meters above the old towne of Villefranche sur mer which is accessible by car within 3 minutes drive of the villa. There is nearby grocery shopping and dry cleaning services within a 5 minute drive in either direction to the villages of Beaulieu Sur Mer or into Mount Boron, two sister towns to Villefranche Sur Mer. There are nearby public and private beach areas within a 5 to 10 minute drive of the villa and dozens of walking tours to me made within 10 minutes of the villa. For the convenience of the visitor, information and detailed maps are provided to all destinations of interest, restaurants, tourist attractions, shopping and schedules of local events so that you may make maximum use of your stay while at Villa Athena.

The villa was built of a traditional 1920’s Riviera style in stucco with clay tile roof and was formerly owned by one of the most well known local artists of his era, Caravelle. The villa has no formal grounds, but rather a landscaped front motor court parking area and rear terrace. The terrace has a mosaic marble table and chairs for daily al fresco dining with dramatic views of the bay and harbor of Villefranche and Jean Cap Ferrat.

The villa is approximately 205 meters in size (approximately 2,500 s.f. total floor area). There are three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, each quite large by European standards. There are 2 queen sized beds and one king sized bed that would accomodate a maximum of six people (no small children please). All bedding is of the finest quality and new. All furnishings are of a 5 star hotel quality including precious 18th century French and Italian antiques and art throughout, all other furniture has been custom designed for the villa in California and New York, all fabrics have been selected by the owner in Paris and Milan, stone floors with antique oriental rugs throughout, marble bathrooms and showers, rosewood cabinetry in the kitchen, state of the art kitchen appliances and full laundry facilities. Be prepared to live in true mediterranean style and luxury with every possible modern convenience available.

Available Amenities:Fully equipped kitchen with fine china and all necessary cooking utensils, refrigerator, cooktop, oven, microwave oven and dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. Fully equipped laundry room with washer, dryer and large sink.
Television, stereo system and computer with DSL internet connection and telephone system accessing 21 countries (and local calls) at no additional charge.
Heating and air conditioning, all systems are new.
Extra Services: Maid service daily or weekly (prices upon request).
Electric services are metered and charged to the guest for the duration of their stay (typically ranging from 100 euros to 300 euros per month).
Personal greeting at the airport to bring you to Villa Athena for the first time and private tours of the area by english speaking local guide (prices upon request).
